Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC) turns 20 this year. Happy to celebrate the anniversary with the Council over dinner, and see the happy faces of the volunteers and beneficiaries.
Many thanks to the CDAC Board, staff and volunteers. You are the helping hands for the Chinese community, and the heart and soul of the CDAC.
Self-help groups like the CDAC (and Yayasan Mendaki, Singapore Indian Development Association, Eurasian Association) do much to help those in their communities who are not doing well. They understand the problems of these community members best, and do much good work to uplift the less fortunate ones.
Every one of us should do our part to support these self-help groups, as donors and volunteers. I was happy to meet many CDAC volunteers tonight, including people like Jia En, Bryan Ong and Mdm Teo Lung Hiang who had themselves benefitted from CDAC’s programmes. Let us all embrace this spirit of paying it forward!
